About Me

Scott Kirkpatrick has been an avid photographer for 30 years and was first published at the age of 15. He is experienced in a variety of photographic styles and subject matters, particularly enjoying sports photography and wildlife. Originally hailing from Nova Scotia where he owned a studio, he now lives on beautiful Vancouver Island.

Both classically- and self-taught, Scott has a keen eye and sees beauty in everything. People are amazed that they can be looking at the same thing as he is, but miss his unique perspective and perception. Luckily, he has the talent to capture these images so he can share with us what he sees.

In addition to being a gifted wedding and portrait photographer, Scott is also an accomplished local sports photographer. He is the official photographer of the Canadian National Champion VI Raiders junior football team. He has also shot for the BC Lions, Seattle Seahawks, photographed NHL & world junior hockey, the 2006 and 2007 NFL Pro Bowls, Sr B & Sr A lacrosse, and numerous local sporting events. He is the only BC photographer to be officially accredited by FIFA to photograph the Under-20 World Cup.

Scott was also the official photographer of the 2008 BCCAA Men's & Women's Volleyball Provincials, 2007 & 2008 Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone, 2007 CCAA Men's Volleyball Nationals, 2007 So You Wanna Fight Nanaimo event, 2006 & 2007 World Championship Nanaimo Bathtub races, 2006 Harry Jerome Track Classic and the 2006 Cullen Cup & CJFL Canadian Bowl.

In addition to taking photographs, Scott enjoys teaching workshops brings a healthy dose of humour to his students to help them learn from his experiences and wealth of knowledge.
